Terms of Use

The short version

Usage Buddy is licensed, not sold. Use it on the number of devices allowed by your purchase, keep your key private, and do not redistribute or misuse the app. Provider integrations, updates, and uninterrupted operation are not guaranteed. The software is provided “as is,” subject to rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Agreement and license

By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using Usage Buddy, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

A valid purchase grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to install and use Usage Buddy on the number of devices permitted by the plan shown at checkout. A one-time purchase allows continued use of the version delivered to you; it does not transfer ownership of the app or its intellectual property.

Acceptable use

You may not sell, sublicense, publish, share, or redistribute the app, installer, download access, or license key; defeat activation or device limits; use another person’s key; remove ownership notices; misrepresent the app as your own; use it unlawfully; interfere with the service or its providers; or use automated means to abuse license, recovery, support, or website systems. Reverse engineering is prohibited except where applicable law expressly permits it.

We may suspend or revoke a license associated with fraud, chargebacks, prohibited sharing, circumvention, or a material breach of these Terms. Revocation does not limit any mandatory consumer right.

Purchases, taxes, and refunds

Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. Prices, currency, taxes, and payment terms are shown at checkout. Dodo Payments handles payment processing, receipts, tax collection, and approved refund disbursement. Refund requests are governed by our Refund Policy, the terms shown at checkout, and applicable law.

Third-party providers

Usage Buddy reads usage information through supported third-party coding tools and services. Those products are independent of Usage Buddy and governed by their own agreements. Provider APIs, command-line tools, authentication flows, rate limits, response formats, plans, or policies may change, fail, restrict access, or stop working at any time. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, accounts, data, outages, or changes.

Requirements, downloads, and security

You are responsible for meeting the published Windows requirements, using the official download link, protecting your device and accounts, keeping appropriate backups, and deciding whether the software is suitable for your environment. Downloads obtained from third parties may be altered and are used at your own risk.

We take reasonable measures to deliver the intended installer and protect license and purchase systems, but no software can be guaranteed to be free from bugs, vulnerabilities, harmful code, compatibility problems, data loss, or unauthorized interference. You should use current operating-system protections and scan downloads where appropriate. Usage Buddy is not security, antivirus, backup, or compliance software.

Updates and availability

We may provide updates, fixes, or new features, but do not guarantee any release schedule, feature, support period, backward compatibility, or continued compatibility with Windows or third-party providers. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the software or website. Internet access may be required for activation, periodic license validation, provider data, and updates.

No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Usage Buddy and the website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties or guarantees of any kind, express, implied, or statutory, including accuracy, availability, security, non-infringement, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Usage information is informational only and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential loss, or for lost data, accounts, access, revenue, profits, business, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the software, website, or third-party services. Our total aggregate liability relating to Usage Buddy will not exceed the amount you paid for the license giving rise to the claim. These limits apply only to the extent permitted by law and do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Ownership and trademarks

Usage Buddy, its code, design, branding, and content remain the property of their respective owner. OpenAI, ChatGPT, Codex, Anthropic, Claude, Cursor, Microsoft, Windows, GitHub, and other names or marks belong to their respective owners. Usage Buddy is an independent product and is not endorsed by or affiliated with those providers unless expressly stated.

Changes, severability, and contact

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version and effective date. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Questions can be sent through the contact page.
